• La ficción nos permite ver el mundo desde el punto de vista de otra persona, y hay bastantes estudios neurológicos que demuestran que leer novelas es bueno para la salud. Te integra en la sociedad y te hace pensar en los demás. La gente es ciertamente mejor en todo tipo de cosas si puede retener una novela en su cabeza. Es toda una habilidad, pero si no puedes hacerlo te estás perdiendo algo en la vida. Creo que, cuando conoces a alguien, te das cuenta de si lee novelas o no. Si no lo hacen, hay algo de vacío.

The bizarre series of episodes -- mostly sexual encounters with women -- which make up this short novel don't play to Roth's strengths. (...)
